Mailling/Schönau, 3rd July 2019 – The cheese appetite experts from Frischpack in Mailling have been ranked among the best in the 26th TOP 100 innovation competition. The company received the accolade on 28th June in Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle. Marian Heinz, Chairman of the Board of Management of Frischpack, was joined in Frankfurt by his management colleague, Horst Luchtefeld, to accept the trophy from Ranga Yogeshwar, the competition mentor. Using scientific methods, the TOP 100 evaluates the innovation management of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as their resulting innovative successes. In an independent selection process Frischpack impressed the panel of judges in the category “Innovative Processes and Organisation”. “We are proud to receive this prize on behalf of our company and would like to thank our committed employees,” commented Marian Heinz.

Producing with efficiency while avoiding raw material losses
Frischpack had submitted its innovative machine data logging system for the competition. All of this Mailling-based company’s packing lines have been incorporated in this system for the last two years. All of the technical production data is recorded, analysed and utilised to continually improve their production processes. The aim is to consistently increase the level of efficiency while avoiding faults right from the outset. This also helps to reduce the number of complaints: by more than 14 percent from 2016 to 2017, and by a further three percent from 2017 to 2018 - thus also resulting in a reduction in raw-material and product losses. Economising in this sense of the word, as the second recently published sustainability report shows, is a fundamental pillar of the Frischpack business strategy. “We are aware of the responsibility we bear and are now adopting new approaches when it comes to our packaging,” Marian Heinz stated. With this in mind, the Mailling company aims to progressively reduce its consumption of packaging film and instead use recyclable raw materials or biopolymer, compostable plastics. ”Our philosophy at Frischpack remains to continually self-improve while avoiding wastefulness.”
