Sustainable management, our ambition to be an attractive employer and the conservation of resources all form an integral part of the Frischpack mission statement. For us, sustainability means being ecologically aware of our actions while also efficiently economizing for our customers’ benefit so that we can generate true additional value for them. This applies to our entire value chain. Consistently practised responsibility for our environment combined with a high demand on quality and innovation are what motivate us at Frischpack every day, time and time again. For the first time ever, our Sustainability Report 2024 includes both Mailling and Viersen, the two Frischpack company sites. This means that the entire Frischpack sustainability management system, which is certified to DIN standards at both sites, is now documented comprehensively and in its entirety.
With Frischpack, you have a partner who is not only future-oriented when it comes to products and services, but who also proactively focuses on preserving an environment worth living in.
In three areas of action, we have identified twelve core topics that are crucial to us at Frischpack:
Our operative goals set our strategic course towards efficient, sustainable solutions. Appropriate key figures are defined for each goal so that we can continuously track our progress and identify areas in need of improvement. Each goal is also linked to specific measures. We are currently increasingly focussing on the following topics:
the reduction of plastics, recyclability and employee development:
Constantly changing market conditions mean we must react flexibly and promptly to new challenges. It is therefore important for us to think long-term and ensure that we remain competitive and innovative so that we can expand our markets profitably and sustainably. Our integrated management system forms an essential part of this. You can find more information on this in our current sustainability report.
The path to even greater sustainability takes us one step further every day. We have already achieved many milestones at the Frischpack corporate sites in Mailling and Viersen.
Frischpack GmbH started back in 2012 with its first CO2 strategy consultation and the first CO2 balance sheet. By balancing our emissions, we set the course for our sustainability aspirations.
At the Frischpack site in Mailling, we are committed to generating our own electricity. By installing and starting up our own photovoltaic system, we are helping to improve our impact on the environment.
We work with 100% green electricity and green gas at both our Mailling and Viersen sites. Since 2023, the Frischpack site in Viersen has also been certified in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems standard.
In 2014, we set up an integrated management system at the Mailling site - which was compliant with the requirements of international standards for energy, environmental and occupational health and safety management – and were certified regularly on the basis of this.
We also introduced a comprehensive environmental and energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 and DIN EN ISO 50001 at our Frischpack site in Viersen and had it certified.
In 2017, we at Frischpack GmbH prepared our first sustainability report for the Frischpack site in Mailling. In doing so, we already followed the requirements of the German Sustainability Code standard.
One of our milestones in 2022 was a 67% reduction in our absolute CO2 emissions at the Frischpack site in Mailling compared to 2013. The figure was even 71% per tonne of goods produced. The Frischpack site in Viersen also underwent a comprehensive energy modernization.
With our first multi-site sustainability report, we as Frischpack report on our activities at both Frischpack sites and combine our expertise using our integrated management systems.
Frischpack is taking the safe path here. Our contributions to sustainability are certified:
